Legal Representation Program
The Vermont Victim Advocacy Project's Legal Representation Program provides free (pro bono) legal guidance to Vermont's crime victims. In order to qualify for representation by the Advocacy Project:
You must be an individual: Only individuals are eligible for free legal representation; corporate entities, such as businesses and organizations, are not.
The crime must have been reported to law enforcement: There must have been a report of the crime made to the Vermont State Police, City or Town Police, County Sheriff, or other law enforcement agency.
You must not be a defendant or codefendant: If you have been charged with a crime, you will not eligible for the Legal Representation Program while any charges are pending. If you are participating in the legal representation program and are charged with committing a crime, you will no longer be eligible and your participation in the program and the legal representation will end.
For more information, please contact us, review the frequently asked questions, fill-out an online application for representation, or contact your local State's Attorney Victim Advocate.
